An ASTM A325 hex bolt is a heavy hex-headed structural bolt made from heat-treated steel, designed for structural steel connections in construction. With high-strength properties (typically 120/105 ksi tensile strength), these bolts range in size from 1/2" to 1-1/2" in diameter and are used to fasten materials like steel and wood in buildings, bridges, and other structures. Though the original specification was withdrawn in 2016, the "A325" designation remains as a widely used grade name within the newer ASTM F3125 standard.
